Mosaic Tile Design Peach and Blue Mammy Cookie Jar

Our Mosaic Mammy cookie jar in a soft peach checkered dress with blue turban is a lovely recreation of a famous "lunchroom special" Mosaic Tile Design. This impossibly rare motif is known to have been created only once, and is documented in collector books as impossible to value due to it's unique nature.

Originally manufactured by the Mosaic Tile company of Zanesville, Ohio around 1944-45, this classic Mammy design cookie jar was designed by Kenneth Gale and was briefly distributed as a promotional gift for clients. This jar is an excellent example of Black Americana and represents a rare cookie jar design by a famous art tile company.

Mammy has no cold paint and will never flake or peel. She is completely washable and made of top quality lead-free materials. She stands approximately 12.5 inches tall.

Ferdinand the Bull Wedgewood Style Cream Pitcher

The Story of Ferdinand the Bull (1936) was written by American author Munro Leaf and illustrated by Robert Lawson. This children's book tells the story of a bull who would rather smell the flowers than fight in the local bullfights. He simply sits in the middle of the bull ring and refuses to react to any of the provocations of the matador and others to fight, before returning to his beloved hills and flowers.

Our Ferdinand the Bull table creamer pays dual homage to the pacifist message of this lovely story, and to the artistic genius of the Wedgewood company artist Arnold Machin, who in 1942 created a legendary interpretation of Ferdinand featuring a stylized floral design in Cobalt Blue and Yellow.

Our Ferdinand is a fully functional creamer, in the Wedgewood floral motif, and is completely washable inside and out and food-safe. He stands approximately 4.5 inches tall.
